How the total is calculated
Each row is converted to an exact decimal-hours value first — clock-in/out pairs use the minutes between the two times minus any break, duration entries use hours + minutes ÷ 60. The exact values are summed, and rounding (if you choose quarter-hour or tenth-hour) is applied once to the final total, not to each row individually. That keeps the total accurate instead of drifting from rounding the same amount multiple times.
Overnight shifts are handled automatically: if clock-out is earlier than clock-in, the calculator assumes the shift crossed midnight and adds 24 hours before computing the duration.
